_______________
An Act to modify the reporting requirements of the Gaming Commission law.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.
Inasmuch as the assurance of many good-paying jobs for Massachusetts citizens were a major attraction in the recent debates concerning casino gaming for Massachusetts, and in order to assure that jobs created in accordance with Chapter 23k of the General Laws of Massachusetts qualify for the term “permanent employment opportunities (for) the residents of the commonwealth” of subsection (5) of Section 1 and the term “existing labor force” of subsections (4) and (17) of Section 18 of said Chapter 23k, in that they will be held by established residents of Massachusetts, Chapter 23k Section 21 subsection (a) (12) shall be modified in the following manner:
(a) By inserting after the phrase “job titles,” the following words: “lengths (in years and months) of their actual permanent physical residencies in the Commonwealth,”.
(b) By striking the word “of” after the words “benefits and salaries” and replacing it with the phrase “actually received by the”.
(c) By adding after the words “at the gaming establishment” at the end of the subsection and prior to the current semi-colon the following words: “, with a separate attachment listing the names of these jobholders, all access to said attachment to be restricted to members of the gaming commission”.
Thus the final wording of said subsection shall read as follows:
“(12) collect and annually report to the commission a detailed statistical report on the number, job titles, lengths (in years and months) of their actual permanent physical residencies in the Commonwealth, benefits and salaries actually received by the employees hired and retained in employment at the gaming establishment, with a separate attachment listing the names of these jobholders, all access to said attachment to be restricted to members of the commission”.
SECTION 2.
This act shall take effect upon its enactment by the General Court and the Governor of Massachusetts.
