An Act relative to voter privacy.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 76 of chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the words “announce the same”, in line 4, and inserting in place thereof the following words:- repeat the same to the person checking the voting list.

SECTION 2.  Said section 76 of said chapter 54, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following sentence:-  Any oral statement of the voter’s name and residence shall be such that the privacy of the voter is maintained as much as practicable.
