An Act requiring registration of recycling contractors.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
The General Laws are hereby amended by inserting after chapter 21O the following chapter:-
Any recycling contractor seeking to engage in business in the commonwealth or a municipality shall file an application with the department of environmental protection. This form shall be made on a form to be furnished by the department, and shall include, without limitation, the following information: (1) the name and contact information of the applicant; and (2) a description of any collection, consolidation or processing services utilized to recover, reuse, or recycle the materials provided by the commonwealth or municipality. If the application fails to satisfy the requirements of this section the contractor shall, within 30 days, file with the department a revised application addressing the requirements noted by the department.
