An Act to address the lack of sex-specific data in Massachusetts.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (e) of section 2G of Chapter 224, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, at the end of the first paragraph, the following sentences:-
In the case of any study in which women, racial and ethnic minorities, and low income individuals are included in studies funded by the fund, the commissioner shall ensure that the study is designed and carried out in a manner sufficient to provide for a valid analysis of whether the studied variables affect women, racial and ethnic minorities, and low income individuals differently than other populations in the study. Study data should be stratified, analyzed, and reported by sex and sex-race groups.
SECTION 2. Chapter 12C of the General Laws, as added by section 19 of chapter 224 of the acts of 2012, is hereby amended by inserting, after section 6, the following section:-
Section 6A. The center shall annually conduct a survey of health insurance coverage which includes, but is not limited to, information gathered by the Massachusetts Health Insurance Survey, so called. The results of the survey shall be publically reported with data that is stratified by sex, sex-race, and sex-race-socioeconomic status.
