An Act relative to electrical panels and workplace safety.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 6 the following new section:

Section 6 1/2. In promulgating rules and regulations pursuant to section 6, the department shall establish standards for the safety and prevention of accidents related to electrical panels in a place of employment, which shall apply to any or all such places of employment that are subject to section 6, and which shall include, but need not be limited to, the use of a protective cover or enclosure for an electrical panel to prevent accidental injury or damage.
