An Act to allow charter public schools to give enrollment preference to children of full-time employees.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 89 of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, on line 389, after the words “shall be admitted” the following: "Massachusetts charter public schools which operate under collective bargaining agreements may include in contractual terms a provision to give preference in their enrollment policies to children of full-time employees; provided, however, that said children shall not be counted toward the charter school student cap; and provided further that said children shall not constitute more than 5% of a school's total student population."
