An Act authorizing medical marijuana treatment centers to sell recreational marijuana beginning Jul 1, 2017.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to ensure the safe implementation of marijuana legalization, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public [Emergency Preamble Context].
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1 SECTION 6 of Chapter 334 of the acts of 2016 is hereby amended by striking out", if the cannabis control commission fails to adopt regulations necessary for the implementation of this chapter on or before January 1, 2018," and inserting in place thereof the following words, "on and after July 1, 2017".
