(2017-2018)
_______________
An Act supporting public health through a pilot study.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 33E of Chapter 149 is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:
"The Commonwealth shall establish a pilot program for public employees for the purpose of increasing the living organ donation option.
"Said pilot shall be capped at 100 participants. The pilot program shall explore different methods of incentivizing program participation involving compensation valued at the amount of hardship endured by the donating individual. Said compensation shall be regulated and not modeled after a free-market program. Compensation shall not effect insurance coverage, allowed time off or any current benefits offered to living organ donors."
