An Act prohibiting electric customer support for gas pipeline expansion.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 94A of chapter 164 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out, lines 1 and 2, the words "No gas or electric company shall hereafter enter into a contract for the purchase of gas or electricity" and inserting in place thereof, the following words: "No gas company shall hereafter enter into a contract for the purchase of gas, and no electric company shall hereafter enter into a contract for the purchase of electricity."

Said section 94A of chapter 164 is further amended by inserting, in line 15, after the sentence ending "null and void." the following sentence: "No gas company may contract for electricity pursuant to this section; and no electric company may contract for gas pursuant to this section."
