An Act requiring license plates for bicycles.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 85 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 11E the following section:-

Section 11F. Any person, age 21 and over, who rides a bicycle on a public way, shall affix a plate which shall bear a distinctive number, as prescribed by the registrar, to said bicycle upon a fee to be determined annually by the commissioner of administration under the provision of section 3B of chapter 7. Said fee shall be forwarded to the registry of motor vehicles by such person. Said plate shall be renewed biannually in the manner prescribed by the registrar.  The registrar shall promulgate any rules and regulations necessary to carry out this section.
