An Act relative to the protection of children.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Children and Families shall amend 110 CMR, Section 2.00, by including, in the definition of “Neglect”, the following:

i.Custodial parent opioid drug abuse or opioid drug dependence;

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Children and Families shall amend 110 CMR, Section 2.00, by including, in the definition of “Abuse”, the following:

i.The sale, distribution or provision of drugs or alcohol to a child;

ii.The use, storage or manufacture of chemicals or equipment in a child's presence;

iii.The manufacturing of a controlled substance in the presence of or on the premises with a child.
