An Act providing transportation to recovery high schools.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. 7035-XXXX For reimbursements to cities, towns, and regional school districts for the cost of transportation of resident pupils as required by subsection (f) of section 91 of chapter 71 of the General Laws; provided, that the commonwealth’s obligation shall not exceed the amount appropriated in this item ........ $1,200,000
SECTION 2. To provide for improvements to substance abuse recovery services in the commonwealth in fiscal year 2017, the sums set forth in Section 1 of this act are hereby appropriated from the General Fund for the several purposes and subject to the conditions specified in this act and subject to laws regulating the disbursement of public funds; provided, however, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, appropriations made herein shall not revert and shall be available for expenditure until June 30, 2018.
SECTION 3. Section 91 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection:-
(f) A municipality wherein a student resides who is admitted to a Recovery High School, shall, when necessary, provide for the transportation of such student, and shall, subject to appropriation, be entitled to state reimbursement to the full extent of the amount expended.
