An Act relative to school projects.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 10 of chapter 70B of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, in determining the grant percentage for approved school projects for calendar year 2016 and calendar year 2017, the Massachusetts school building authority shall calculate the community poverty factor for each school facilities project using the fiscal year 2014 proportion of low income students or the fiscal year 2017 proportion of economically disadvantaged students, whichever is higher, as determined by the department of elementary and secondary education.

SECTION 2. Section 1 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. Section 2 shall take effect on December 31, 2017.
