An Act relative to UOCAVA voting.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 91B of chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (c) the following subsection:-

(d) To a voter qualified under the federal Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (42 USC section 1973ff-2), the ballot may be delivered electronically by fax, e-mail, or secure website. The secretary of state may promulgate rules and regulations necessary for the implementation of this section.

SECTION 2. Section 92 of chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (c) the following subsection:-

(d) A voter to whom a ballot was delivered electronically by fax, e-mail, or secure website as provided in subsection (d) of section ninety-one B, may return it by fax, e-mail, secure website, or mail to the city or town clerk.
