An Act relative to ensuring care is provided in the most appropriate setting.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the center for health information and analysis, in consultation with the health policy commission, shall conduct a study to examine the potential cost savings associated with providing health care services at community health centers and community hospitals rather than academic medical centers and teaching hospitals. The center shall submit a report of its findings to the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate, the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on health care financing not later than April 1, 2019.
