An Act relative to parole for previous life sentences.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 24 of Chapter 279 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 19 by striking out the following: “20” and inserting in place thereof the following: “30”.
SECTION 2. Section 24 of Chapter 279 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 20 by striking out the following: “30” and inserting in place thereof the following: “40”.
SECTION 3. Section 24 of Chapter 279 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 24 by striking out the following: “30” and inserting in place thereof the following: “40”.
SECTION 4. Section 24 of Chapter 279 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 29 by striking out the following: “25 years nor more than 30” and inserting in place thereof the following: “35 years nor more than 40”.
