An Act relative to the right to counsel in guardianship proceedings.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 123 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following new section: -
Section 37. Any person shall have a right to counsel and the court shall appoint an attorney to represent such person when a petition for appointment of a guardian, conservator or other protective order is filed.
