An Act to strengthen motor vehicle homicide penalties.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 24G of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking, in lines 15-18 of paragraph (a), the words:- “or by imprisonment in a jail or house of correction for not less than one year nor more than two and one-half years and a fine of not more than five thousand dollars.”
SECTION 2:
Section 24G of chapter 90 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking, in line 19 of paragraph (a), the word:- “one” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “two and one-half.”
SECTION 3:
Section 24G of chapter 90 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking, in line 22 of paragraph (a), the word:- “one” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “two and one-half.”
