An Act increasing the legal age for marijuana consumption and purchase from 21 to 25.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to establish forthwith a minimum age for the consumption and purchase of marijuana, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (a) of section 1 of chapter 94G of the General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 2. Subsection (b) of section 2 of said chapter 94G is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 3. Clause (6) of subsection (a) of section 5 of said chapter 94G is hereby amended by striking out the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 4. Section 7 of said chapter 94G is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 5. Section 8 of said chapter 94G is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figures:- 25.
SECTION 6. Subsection (b) of section 9 of said chapter 94G is hereby amended, in by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 7. subsection (e) of section 12 of said chapter 94G is hereby amended by striking out the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 8. Section 13 of said chapter 94Gis hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 9. Section 1 of chapter 334 of the acts of 2016 is hereby amended by striking out, in each instance, the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
SECTION 10. Section 6 of chapter 334 of the acts of 2016, as amended by section 7 of chapter 351 of the acts of 2016, is hereby further amended by striking out the figure “21” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 25.
