An Act relative to commitment hearings.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5 of chapter 123 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 18 by striking out the last sentence of said section and inserting in place thereof the following new sentence: -
All hearings for commitments pursuant to this chapter shall be held at the courthouse, unless a petitioner files a motion requesting that such hearing be held at the facility or said hospital and shows good cause for such request.
