An Act relative to a senior exemption for the town of Harwich.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of clause 41C of section 5 of chapter 59 of the General Laws, or of any other general or special law to the contrary, the Board of Assessors in the town of Harwich is hereby authorized to grant a senior exemption in the amount of $1,500.00 to individuals meeting the qualifications contained in clause 41C of section 5 of chapter 59.

SECTION 2.  In the fiscal year in which this act takes effect, the town of Harwich is hereby authorized to reimburse those eligible for a senior exemption under clause 41C of section 5 of chapter 59 of the General Laws in the amount of $500.00.

SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
