An Act to allow oral examinations for learner’s permits.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 8B of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following sentences:-

“The registrar shall provide oral examinations to an applicant, if so requested, in any language then offered by the registry to administer learning permit examinations for Class D licenses to operate motor vehicles. The applicant or the registrar may provide an interpreter or interpreter service to assist in the oral examination, whose credentials shall be subject to the approval of the Registry.”.
