An Act relative to automated retail checkout systems.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION XXX
Subsection (a) of section 56D of chapter 98 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-
The director or the director's inspectors and sealers and inspectors of weights and measures and their deputies may enter any establishments with 3 or more cash registers at any time during normal business hours as determined in the director’s discretion in order to examine and test the operation of all automated retail checkout systems located in the establishment.
