An Act  to allow non-profits to purchase alcohol from retail package stores for charitable events.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 2 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 official edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “corporation”, in line 15, the following words:- ;provided further, that the provisions of this chapter shall not apply to charities and non-profits that obtain approval from the local licensing authority to purchase and distribute certain limited quantities of alcohol from retail package stores for the purpose of hosting fundraisers.
