An Act relative to administering medication to farm animals.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 129 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

Section 49. An owner of any livestock, as defined in Section 118 of Chapter, or a person who is otherwise engaged in the business of obtaining livestock under a growing agreement, may administer or authorize an agent to administer a medically important antimicrobial drug to the livestock, subject to a prescription or veterinary feed directive issued by a licensed veterinarian.
