An Act providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation training in high schools.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1L of chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following paragraph:-
All school committees and school districts shall provide for psychomotor skill-based cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and an overview of automated external defibrillator use for all high school students prior to graduation. This shall at a minimum include psychomotor skill, which means the use of hands-on practicing to support cognitive learning.
SECTION 2. The department of elementary and secondary education shall establish rules and regulations for monitoring adherence to section 1.
