An Act relative to nitrogen impaired embayments.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 13 of chapter 21A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:- 

For the purposes of this section, a watershed of a coastal estuary or embayment that is included in the Massachusetts integrated list of waters, that is identified as impaired, due in whole or in part to nitrogen pollution, shall be deemed to be a nitrogen sensitive area. The department of environmental protection shall promulgate such rules and regulations as it considers necessary to fulfill the requirements of this section.
