(2017-2018)
_______________
An Act creating a commission to study eligible MassHealth transportation services.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Non-emergency transportation service providers, such as vans and limousine services, are prohibited from transporting patients who have been discharged from hospital and rehab facilities, even if non-emergency transport vehicles are entirely appropriate.
This bill creates a study commission to review the situation and make recommendations which may offer a lower-cost transportation solution for MassHealth patients who have been discharged and do not need emergency-equipped transport.
