An Act relative to the oral health workforce.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1 Section 25L of Chapter 111, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 2, by inserting after the word “health” the following words: “dental”
Section 25L of Chapter 111, is hereby amended in line 11, by inserting after the word “providers” the following words: “oral health care providers, including dentists, dental hygienists”
Section 25L of said Chapter 111, is hereby further amended in line 26, by inserting after the word “physicians” the following words: “dentists, dental hygienists”
Section 25L of said Chapter 111, is hereby further amended in line 44, by inserting after the word “groups” the following words: “oral health care groups”
Section 25L of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 65, by inserting after the word “physicians” the following words: “and dentists”
Section 25L of said Chapter 111 in hereby further amended in line 66, by inserting after the word “nurses” the following words: “dental hygienists”
Section 25L of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 68, by inserting after the word “physicians” the following words: “dentists, dental hygienists and appropriate licensed dental providers”
Section 25L of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 70, by inserting after the word “physician” the following words: ”dentist, dental hygienist”
SECTION 2Section 25M of Chapter 111 as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 5, by inserting after the word “physician” the following word: “dental”
Section 25M of Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 8, by striking out the number 19 and inserting in place there of the following number: “21”
Section 25M of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 33, by inserting after the words “Health Care For All, Inc.” the following words: “1 of whom shall be a dentist with a public health education and/or experience in public health; 1 of whom shall be a dental hygienist with a public health education and/or experience in public health”
Section 25M of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 43, by striking the words “trends in access to primary care and physician subspecialties, nursing, physician assistant and behavioral, substance use disorder and mental health services” and inserting in place there of the following words: “trends in access to primary and oral health care and physician and dentist subspecialties, nursing, dental hygiene and community health worker services, physician assistant and behavioral, substance abuse disorder and mental health services”
SECTION 3Section 25N of Chapter 111 as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in line 4, by inserting after the word “graduate” the following words: “accredited dental school loans”
Section 25N of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 5, by striking the words “are graduates of medical, nursing, or physician assistant schools or accredited graduate schools” and inserting in place there of the following words: “are graduates of medical, dental, nursing, dental hygiene schools or physician assistant schools or accredited graduate schools”
Section 25N of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 27, by inserting after the word “medical” the following words: “and dental”
Section 25N of said Chapter 111 is hereby further amended in line 40, by striking the words “the number of applicants, the number accepted and the number of participants by race, gender, medical, nursing, physician assistant, behavioral health, substance use, and mental health specialty, graduate, physician assistant, medical or nursing school, residence prior to graduate, medical, nursing, or physician assistant school and where they plan to practice after program completion” and inserting in place there of the following words: “the number of applicants, the number accepted, and the number of participants by race, gender, medical, dental or nursing specialty, accredited dental, nursing, or dental hygiene school, residence prior to medical, dental, nursing, or dental hygiene school, and where they plan to practice after program completion”
