An Act to ensure fairness in care and protection proceedings.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 26 (a) of chapter 119 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first sentence the following new sentence:-

Any judge who presided at hearings under sections 24 or 25 shall not preside at the hearing on the merits under this section.
