An Act relative to the reform of certain archaic laws.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 12Q of chapter 112 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out the first paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph: -

Except in an emergency requiring immediate action, no abortion may be performed under section twelve L or twelve M unless the written consent of the proper person has been delivered to the physician performing the abortion as set forth in section 12S. 

SECTION 4. Section 16A of Chapter 264 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 5. Section 34 of Chapter 265 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 6. Section 132 of Chapter 266 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 7. Section 19 of chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.        

SECTION 11. Section 14 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 12. Section 18 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 8.  Section 20 of said chapter 272 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 9.  Section 21 of said chapter 272 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 10.  Section 21A of chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out in lines 2, 4 and 8 the word “married”.

SECTION 11. Section 26 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 12. Chapter 272 is hereby further amended by striking out Section 34, as so appearing, and inserting in place thereof the following section: -

Section 34. Whoever commits a sexual act on an animal, uses an object to sexually abuse an animal, or knowingly permits a sexual act with an animal on any premises under such person's control, shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than 20 years or in a house of correction for not more than 2 1/2 years, and by a fine of not more than $5,000.

SECTION 13. Section 35 of chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 14. Section 36 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws, is hereby repealed.

SECTION 15. Section 63 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 16. Section 64 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 17. Section 65 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 18. Section 66 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 19. Section 67 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 20. Section 68 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 21. Section 69 of Chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.
