An Act relative to the marijuana tax rate.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The secretary of the executive office of administration and finance, in conjunction with the treasurer and receiver general, shall create a commission to review the existing tax rate structure to be imposed upon the sale of marijuana or marijuana products by a marijuana retailer to anyone other than a marijuana establishment. The commission may make recommendations relative to adjusting the recreational marijuana tax structure.

SECTION 2. The secretary of the office of administration and finance shall file a report with the both branches of the legislature, the joint committee on revenue, the house committee on ways and means and the senate committee on ways and means by September 1, 2017 with their recommendations.
