An Act relative to the classification of gaming establishment employees.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 23K of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the definition of “Gaming employee” and inserting in place thereof the following definition:-

“Gaming employee”, an employee of a gaming establishment who: (i) is directly connected to the operation or maintenance of a slot machine or game taking place in a gaming establishment; (ii) provides security in a gaming establishment; or (iii) has access to a restricted area of a gaming establishment.

SECTION 2. Said section 2 of said chapter 23K, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting, after the definition of “Major policymaking position”, the following definition:-

“Non-gaming employee”, (i) an employee who is not directly connected to the operation or maintenance of a slot machine or a game taking place in the gaming establishment; (ii) does not provide security in a gaming establishment; and (iii) does not have access to a restricted area of a gaming establishment.
