An Act relative to floor hockey safety.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 222 of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out subsection (h) and inserting in place thereof the following 2 subsections:-

(h)A student who participates in floor hockey as part of a physical education course at a public school in the commonwealth shall wear protective headgear in compliance with federal safety standards and the equipment recommendations of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association, including, but not limited to, a safety helmet and mouth guard while participating in activities where such protective gear is recommended.

(i)The division shall adopt regulations to carry out this section.
