An Act relative to protecting district school funding.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 89 of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the figure “(3)”, in line 191, the following words:- ; provided, however, that a public school district shall pay its foundation budget rate per-pupil cost as set forth in chapter 70 or the statewide average foundation budget rate per-pupil cost, whichever is lower, for each charter school student in such district. The department shall calculate, for each fiscal year, the rate per-pupil cost for each district and the average rate per-pupil cost statewide, based on the foundation budget, as set forth in said chapter 70. The department shall make such rates publicly available on its web site.
