By Mr. Scaccia of Boston, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3534) of Angelo M. Scaccia and Harvey Robbins for legislation to designate a certain portion of a public roadway between Portland Street and Haverhill Street in the city of Boston as Bob Cousy Way.  Transportation.

An Act honoring Bob Cousy.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

The section of Causeway street in the city of Boston running alongside TD Garden, between Portland street and Haverhill street, shall hereby be designated and known Bob Cousy Way, in honor of Boston Celtics legend Bob Cousy, known as “Mr. Basketball”, for his role in saving the sport of professional basketball by transforming the game into to one of crowd appeal.  The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation on Causeway street in proximity to the entrance of TD Garden, in compliance with the standards of the department.
