An Act relative to public safety at the intersection of Brush Hill Road and Truman Parkway in Milton.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
There is hereby established a task force to evaluate the safety of the intersection located at Brush Hill road and Truman parkway in the town of Milton, and to create a safety improvement plan to address the safety concerns presented by the intersection. The task force shall consist of 1 member of the house of representatives, who shall be the house chair of the joint committee on transportation; 1 member of the senate, who shall be the senate chair of the joint committee on transportation; the commissioner of public safety and security, or a designee; and 2 members to be appointed by the governor, 1 of whom shall be an employee of the division of highways within the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, and 1 of whom shall be a law enforcement officer in the town of Milton. The task force shall evaluate potential safety improvements including, but not limited to, additional signage, lighting, landscape and utility maintenance, that may improve the safety of the intersection. Appointments to the task force shall be made not later than 7 days after the effective date of this act. The task force shall report their findings, together with a recommended safety improvement plan and any proposed legislation, to the governor and the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate within 60 days of the effective date of this act.
