An Act relative to larceny thresholds.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 30 of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 9 and 13 the words “two hundred and fifty” and replacing them with the following words:- one thousand five hundred.
SECTION 2: Said section 30 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 15, the words “three hundred” and replacing them with the following words:- two thousand five hundred.
SECTION 3: Said section 30 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 15 to 23, inclusive, the words “; or, if the property was stolen from the conveyance of a common carrier or of a person carrying on an express business, shall be punished for the first offence by imprisonment for not less than six months nor more than two and one half years, or by a fine of not less than fifty nor more than six hundred dollars, or both, and for a subsequent offence, by imprisonment for not less than eighteen months nor more than two and one half years, or by a fine of not less than one hundred and fifty nor more than six hundred dollars, or both”.
SECTION 4: Said section 37C of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 12, the words “two hundred and fifty” and replacing them with the following words:- one thousand five hundred.
SECTION 5: Said section 37C of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 17, the words “two hundred and fifty” and replacing them with the following words:- one thousand five hundred.
SECTION 6: Said section 37C of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 23, the words “two hundred and fifty” and replacing them with the following words:- one thousand five hundred.
SECTION 7: Said section 37C of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in line 31, the words “two hundred and fifty” and replacing them with the following words:- one thousand five hundred.
SECTION 8: Said section 37C of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by striking out, in lines 39-40, the words “two thousand” and replacing them with the following words:- five thousand.
SECTION 9: Section 127 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is amended by striking out, in line 13, the words “two hundred and fifty” and replacing them with the following words:- one thousand five hundred.
SECTION 10: Section 60 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is amended by striking out, in line 13, the word “250” and replacing it with the following word:- 1,500.
SECTION 11: Section 60 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is amended by striking out, in line 15, the word “1,000” and replacing it with the following word:- 2,500.
SECTION 12: Section 60 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is amended by striking out, in line 16, the word “250” and replacing it with the following word:- 1,500.
SECTION 13: Section 60 of said chapter 266, as so appearing, is amended by striking out, in line 20, the word “250” and replacing it with the following word:- 1,500.
