Crocker, Jr. and Julian Cyr for legislation to designate a certain overpass over Route 6 as the Lance Corporal William Joseph Donovan, Jr. memorial bridge.  Transportation.

An Act designating a certain bridge as the Lance Corporal William Joseph Donovan Jr. memorial bridge.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

“SECTION 1. The West Yarmouth Road Overpass over Route 6, bridge number (Bridge Number), shall be designated as the “Lance Corporal William Joseph Donovan Jr. Memorial Bridge.”

SECTION 2. The highway division shall erect and maintain conspicuous signs, plaques, or markers recognizing the “Lance Corporal William Joseph Donovan Jr. Memorial Bridge” stating “The Commonwealth recognizes United States Marine Lance Corporal William J. Donovan Jr., recipient of two Purple Hearts for injuries sustained in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, for his Honor, Courage, and Commitment to his community and country.”

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.”
