(2017-2018)
_______________
An Act authorizing the transfer of care and control of certain parcels of land in Middleborough from the Department of Corrections to the Department of Fish and Game.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to forthwith authorize the transfer of the care and control of certain parcels of land in Middleborough from the department of correction to the department of fish and game, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance, in consultation with the commissioner of the department of correction and the commissioner of the department of fish and game, may transfer the care and control of certain parcels of land in the town of Middleborough identified in section 2 from said department of correction to said department of fish and game for fish and wildlife conservation, natural habitat protection and associated public recreation purposes.
SECTION 2. The parcels of land to be transferred pursuant to section 1 total approximately 34.3 acres in size, more or less, and are identified as Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5 on a plan entitled “Acquisition Plan of Land in Middleborough, Massachusetts,” dated August 25, 1971, on file with the Department of Fish and Game.
