By Mr. Rushing of Boston, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3862) of Byron Rushing (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the city of Boston be authorized to further regulate the appointment of trustees of the public library of said city.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act further regulating the appointment of the trustees of the public library of the city of Boston.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  The first paragraph of section 3 of chapter 114 of the acts of 1878, as most recently amended by chapter 157 of the acts of 1994, is hereby amended by striking out the phrase “shall be nine in number” and inserting in place thereof the phrase “shall be up to fifteen in number.”

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
