An Act eliminating the preliminary election in the City of Revere in 2017.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, there shall be no preliminary election in the city of Revere as otherwise required on September 12, 2017 for either the office of school committee for a 2-year term or for the office of city council for a 2-year term. All candidates whose nomination papers have been duly certified shall be deemed to have been nominated and their names shall appear on the general election ballot.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
