An Act designating a certain road in the town of Charlton as Trooper Thomas L. Clardy Way.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate forthwith a certain road in the town of Charlton, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

The unnamed service road, located between Sturbridge road and Interstate 90 Eastbound at the Charlton state police barracks in the town of Charlton shall be designated and known as Trooper Thomas L. The division of highways of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing this designation in compliance with the standards of the department  that recognize “Trooper Thomas L. Clardy Way” and state “The Commonwealth recognizes Marine Veteran and Massachusetts State Trooper Thomas L. Clardy, killed in the line of duty on Wednesday March 16, 2016.”
