Wagner and others (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the Chicopee Contributory Retirement System be authorized to allow certain members to purchase creditable service for military service.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act relative to the retirement benefits of certain employees of the city of Chicopee.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 71 of the acts of 1996, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Chicopee contributory retirement board shall permit James Zabik, a member of the Chicopee contributory retirement system, to purchase creditable service for his military service time pursuant to paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 71 of the acts of 1996, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Chicopee contributory retirement board shall permit Edmund Gelinas, a member of the Chicopee contributory retirement system, to purchase creditable service for his military service time pursuant to paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 3. Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 71 of the acts of 1996, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Chicopee contributory retirement board shall permit Greg Connors, a member of the Chicopee contributory retirement system, to purchase creditable service for his military service time pursuant to paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 4. Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 71 of the acts of 1996, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Chicopee contributory retirement board shall permit David Beauregard, a member of the Chicopee contributory retirement system, to purchase creditable service for his military service time pursuant to paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 5. Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 71 of the acts of 1996, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Chicopee contributory retirement board shall permit Mark Lachowetz, a member of the Chicopee contributory retirement system, to purchase creditable service for his military service time pursuant to paragraph (h) of subdivision (1) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 6.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
