An Act relative to motor vehicle price advertising.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 7 of chapter 93B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:-
(b) Any motor vehicle dealer advertising the price of a new motor vehicle, including but not limited to affixing an advertised price to the motor vehicle, shall include in such price all charges of any type which are necessary or usual prior to the delivery of such vehicle to a retail purchaser, including but not limited to: charges for freight, handling, vehicle preparation and documentary preparation; taxes; charges for the dealer's preparation of title and assistance in registering a vehicle; and any other charge that is necessarily or usually included in the final purchase price of the motor vehicle. The final price shall be nonnegotiable. A violation of this section shall be considered an unfair or deceptive act or practice under this chapter and under chapter 93A.
