An Act authorizing James J. Malloy to purchase creditable service from the Worcester regional retirement board.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Worcester regional retirement board shall credit James J. Malloy, a member of the Worcester regional retirement system, with creditable service for previous service rendered to the state of Colorado from July 1988 to July 1992, inclusive, and previous service rendered to the state of New York from July 1992 to July 1994, inclusive, for the purpose of determining his superannuation retirement allowance pursuant to paragraph (a) of subdivision (2) of section 5 of chapter 32 of the General Laws. James J. Malloy shall not be credited with service pursuant to this act until and unless he has paid into the annuity savings fund of the Worcester regional retirement system in 1 sum or installments, upon such terms and conditions as the retirement board may prescribe, an amount equal to the contributions James J. Malloy would have otherwise paid into the retirement system had he been a member of the retirement system during the periods of time that such previous services were rendered, at the contribution rate applicable during those periods, plus buyback interest, as defined in section 1 of said chapter 32.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
