By Representative Donato of Medford and Senator Jehlen, a joint petition (subject to Joint Rule 12) of Paul J. Donato and Patricia D. Jehlen (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the city of Medford be authorized to use inserts to accompany municipal property tax bills in said city.  Revenue.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act regarding the use of inserts to accompany municipal property tax bills in the city of Medford.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 3C of chapter 60 of the General Laws or the provisions of any general law or special law to the contrary, the City of Medford may include specific language on its municipal tax bills or on inserts that will accompany municipal property tax bills in the City of Medford to provide taxpayers with a method to make voluntary contributions or donations to assist in the construction or renovation of the buildings that serve the City of Medford police, fire or library departments.

SECTION 2. The specific language and format to be used by the City of Medford shall be approved by the commissioner of revenue.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
