An Act relating to land in Northampton for affordable housing.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to forthwith authorize the transfer of certain parcels of land in the city of Northampton, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 241 of the acts of 2016 is hereby amended by adding as the second sentence of the first paragraph thereof, the following:-
Said conveyance to the City of Northampton shall be without consideration and shall not be subject to the provisions sections 33 to 37 inclusive of chapter 7C of the General Laws or any general or special law to the contrary.
SECTION 2. Section 1 of chapter 241 of the acts of 2016 is hereby amended by striking out in the first sentence of the second paragraph thereof the term “2021” and replacing it with the term “2023.”
SECTION 3. Section 2 of chapter 241 of the acts of 2016 is hereby amended by striking out in the first sentence of the second paragraph thereof the term “2017” and replacing it with the term “2019.”
