An Act authorizing the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School District to lease a certain parcel of land to Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, Inc. for a term of up to 99 years.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School District, acting by and through its school committee, may lease, for a term of up to 99 years commencing on or after the effective date of this act, to Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, Inc., a parcel of land situated on the north side of the Vineyard Haven-Edgartown road in the town of Oak Bluffs, located at 111 Edgartown-Vineyard Haven road, and containing approximately 4.9 acres, such parcel consisting of an existing 3.0 acre lot currently subject to a lease to Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, Inc. dated September 16, 1986 and amended in July of 1987, pursuant to chapter 42 of the acts of 1987, and an additional 1.9 acres of land adjoining said leased lot. The lease of the entire 4.9 acre parcel of land pursuant to this section shall be on terms satisfactory to the school committee of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School District. Furthermore, the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School District, acting by and through its school committee, may from time to time enter into amendments of such lease and may grant consents, licenses and easements and enter into other ancillary agreements related to such lease or related to the construction of facilities or improvements to existing facilities to be constructed on such parcel by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, Inc., all on terms satisfactory to said school committee.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
