An Act authorizing a corrective change to Chapter 154 of the Acts of 1983.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to make a corrective change , therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1.  Chapter 154 of the Acts of 1983 is hereby amended in Section 1 by adding the at the end thereof the following sentence:

“In addition to the benefits granted herein and upon retirement, he shall receive a lump sum from the retirement board equal to his total accumulated retirement deductions.”

Section 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
